study of allelopathic interaction of wheat (triticum aestivum l.) and some weed species using equal - compartment – agar method

چکیده
there are many methods for weed management one of them is putting allelopathic and cover crop in weed management programs. in order to study the effect of sowing time (delayed sowing, synchronic sowing) and wheat cultivars (shiraz, roshan, tabasi, niknejad) on allelopathic interaction of wheat and weed species (secale cereale l., avena ludoviciana l.: monocotyledon, convolvulus arvensis l. and vicia villosa l.: dicotyledon), an experiment was conducted with factorial arrangement in a completely randomized design and 4 replications. according to the results, the inhibitory effect of wheat on monocot weeds (oat and rye) was more than in synchronic sowing and the inhibitory effect of wheat on dicot weeds (bindweed and vetch) was more than in delayed sowing. effect of wheat cultivars on rye and oat (except hypocotyls length) was inhibitory and that of vetch was stimulatory. hypocotyls length showed the most sensitivity to released allelochemicals from wheat cultivars, because root has the most contact with allelochemicals in the soil.

Vernalisation Response of Some Winter Wheat Cultivars (Triticum aestivum L.)
For 17 cultivars of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) different vernalisation and photoperiod responses were detected. The effect of photoperiod sensitivity was not significantly changed by vernalisation; different vernalisation responses were probably due to the presence of multiple alleles at Vrn loci. The delay in heading depended on the vernalisation deficit exponentially: y = parameter (...

An experiment was conducted under controlled conditions to study the effect of water extract of leaves, shoots and roots of either Sisymbrium irio L. =SISIR and/or Descurainia sophia (L.) Schur =DESSO on the germination and primary growth of wheat. A split-split plot experiment in CRD with three replications was used. The main plots were the type of weed: i.e. SISIR and DESSO and the sub-plots ...
متن کاملIntegrated Effect of Seed Rates and Weed Management Treatments in Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)
Abstract: Increased crop density and use of herbicides are two important components of integrated weed management program in wheat but no much information is available on combined effects of these two treatments. A field experiment was conducted to determine the interaction effect of increasing seed rates and weed management treatments on monocot and dicot weeds, grain and straw yield and uptak...
متن کاملThe wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) leaf proteome.
The wheat leaf proteome was mapped and partially characterized to function as a comparative template for future wheat research. In total, 404 proteins were visualized, and 277 of these were selected for analysis based on reproducibility and relative quantity. Using a combination of protein and expressed sequence tag database searching, 142 proteins were putatively identified with an identificat...
متن کاملAllelopathic Effects of Aqueous Extracts of Sunflower on Wheat (triticum Aestivum L.) and Maize (zea Mays L.)
Sunflower is a potent allelopathic plant which possesses important allelochemicals with known allelopathic activity on other plants. In this study, allelopathic effects of fresh aqueous extracts (FAE) and air dried aqueous extracts (DAE) of root, shoot and leaves of sunflower (Halianthus annuus L.) were investigated on germination and seedling growth of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and maize (Z...
متن کاملAllelopathic Assessment of Genetically Modified and Non Modified Maize (zea Mays L.) on Physiology of Wheat (triticum Aestivum L.)
The aim of this work was to study the allelopathic effect of 3 extracts viz 3%,5% and 10% prepared from leaves of GM (insect resistance) and non GM maize on physiology of succeeding crop wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). The extracts prepared from GM maize significantly decreased chlorophyll a content but significantly increased chlorophyll b content as compared with untreated control. Content of c...
